#258 Allow mockbuild to build packages that depend on packages not in a repository
Closed Opened by cqi.

I usually release rpkg and fedpkg together because sometimes new version of fedpkg has changes that depend on the new version of rpkg. In this case, I have to build rpkg first, and then install it into fedpkg buildroot before building fedpkg. All these I did with mockbuild to test package build locally before pushing to dist-git and building in Koji.

According to mock documentation, there are three steps at least required that I did

  • mock -r fedora-26-x86_64 --init
  • mock -r fedora-26-x86_64 --install path/to/rpkg.rpm
  • fedpkg mockbuild --no-clean --mock-config fedora-26-x86_64

Every time to rebuild fedpkg locally, I had to repeat those 3 steps.

It would be nice to merge those into one, like

fedpkg mockbuild --mock-config fedora-26-x86_64 --install path/to/rpkg.rpm [...]

Even if using --no-clean-after in the above 3rd step, this single command would be much straightforward and easier for packager to build packages for the first time to build in this way.

@ausil Thanks. mockchain works for me like a charm.
