let say you have server for storing static files, but you are not admin of system itself.
the only way to upload files are scp/sftp/ftps. it should be nice to have such feature to upload sources this way.

This issue has been unresolved for more than a year, and is going to be closed within a week if no further action is taken. If you feel this is in error, please contact me.
