Since we're using the event hook to publish messages to fedmsg, I hit this bug https://github.com/mitsuhiko/flask-sqlalchemy/issues/182 on Fedora 25. It's been fixed in https://github.com/mitsuhiko/flask-sqlalchemy/pull/364 and released in 2.2. However, python-flask-sqlalchemy-2.2 is not yet built in PkgDB. For backward compatibility purpose, I think we should use the workaround as described in https://github.com/mitsuhiko/flask-sqlalchemy/issues/182 for now.
The first thing I'm going to do is to file a bug in https://apps.fedoraproject.org/packages/python-flask-sqlalchemy/bugs to ask them to upgrade python-flask-slqalchemy to 2.2 for both Fedora and EPEL7. If they'are happy to do so, then we do not need to bother with the workaround.
See #24 for the workaround.
Workaround was included in waiverdb 0.1.
